Phone or canvass for Carolyn this week!

Every week, we meet new volunteers willing to pound the pavement and make countless phone calls to ensure all of 156 will know which box to check on November 8th. Additionally, we are always happy to see our repeat volunteers- your dedication to Carolyn’s race is unwavering!

Whether you are a veteran Carolyn volunteer, or you have not yet experienced the excitement that a check in the “STRONG DEM” box from a moderate Republican brings, we need your help this week.

Carolyn Comitta Needs Volunteers

If you have paid attention to the political activities in the last week, and getting ready to enjoy the drama from this week, you will appreciate just how much is at stake in our upcoming elections. While the Presidential race is very exciting and engaging, and scary, we cannot forget how important the down-ballot races are. In fact, it can be argued that they are more important than a president in our daily lives. State Representatives make decisions about our environment, education, taxes, healthcare, etc. I’m sure you want someone who represents you and your values in Harrisburg.

Carolyn Comitta wants to be your representative in Harrisburg. Her campaign is going very well. Carolyn has been out knocking doors and raising money which will enable her to get out her message to voters, closer to election day. But we need to do more.

We need to double down on our efforts to talk to voters, to make sure they know Carolyn and her values and vision for our future. That is where you come in. If you are getting this email, you may have offered to help Carolyn’s campaign. We need you now. We need people to volunteer to make calls and/or go door knocking, with or without Carolyn, in your neighborhood, to identify those voters who plan to vote for Carolyn in November. Can we count on your help?

Please reply to me (below), letting me know whether you want to make calls or go door to door. You will have a list of neighbors to call or visit. We will provide you with a script, and we will give you support. We will make this fun, and work together, and make sure Carolyn Comitta is your next State Representative. Please let us know that you will help.

Please reply with your name, cell phone number, and days/times available, and whether you will make calls or go door to door, or both. We will follow up with you to get you started and make sure you have the resources to help us. A few hours a week over the next 15 weeks gets us to our goals.

Thank you for all you will do to help Carolyn win!

Proud to stand with Gun Safety Advocates

from Carolyn Comitta, 7/9/16

I am pleased and honored to be endorsed by the Chester County Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence, an organization in our local community, working daily to change the laws enforcing common sense gun safety measures. Led by my friend Tom Buglio, CCCPGV has marched and protested against our local elected officials to call attention to the devastation caused by guns.

I pledge to be a champion for this issue!

I pledge to fight to make universal background checks a reality.

I pledge to bring people together, to build coalitions, to get things done!

Please register on my website to volunteer or make a donation to help spread my message this fall. Please stay in touch. This campaign is going strong, and we WILL win with all your help and support.

I’m ready to serve the 156th District in Harrisburg. With your support, I’ll get there.

Thanks for all you do.

Warmly,

Carolyn

PS I pledge to continue bringing people together to find solutions that will improve our community and help keep people safe.

End of June Updates from Carolyn Comitta

Our campaign is proud to receive the endorsement of Pennsylvania NOW PAC. The National Organization for Women Foundation focuses on women’s rights and global feminist issues including…

  • Economic justice, pay equity
  • Health and body image, reproductive rights and justice, women with disabilities
  • Racial discrimination, family law, marriage and family formation rights of same-sex couples.

But the most important endorsement is
from the people who know me best, YOU!

A friend and supporter, Rob Partridge, former Director of Communications for the WCASD (West Chester Area School District) and President Elect of the Board of Directors for Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce said…

“The mischief of re-drawing political voting boundary lines that was visited upon the Borough of West Chester by the Republican-led Redistricting Commission is worthy of just one response– a full and thorough turnout this November by every citizen who believes in fairness, justice for all, and access for all, to the things that make our community one of the best in the region.

“I know Carolyn Comitta has already played a significant role in bringing those values closer to the people she represents. The next step, for her, must be to provide leadership to an even greater constituency in the State House by becoming, with your support, the next representative from the 156 th Pennsylvania State District.”

With supporters like you, we WIN! Please put Election Day, November 8, 2016, on your calendar. Just two (2) hours of your time on Election Day makes this campaign a success. Please register on my website to volunteer—there’s room for everyone. If you can’t volunteer, your donation helps spread my message in the Fall. Please know that the help you offer is greatly appreciated, and stay in touch. Our campaign is strong.

We WILL win with your help and financial support. Please help us meet our end-of-month goal with a donation.

I am ready to serve you in Harrisburg as your Representative in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, District 156.

With your support, I will get there. I am ready!

Thanks for all you do.

Warmly,

CAROLYN

P.S. Our end-of-month goal is coming soon. Maybe you can contribute $35, $50, or $100 today to help us meet that goal?

West Chester residents rally for gun violence protection

by Candice Monhollan, Daily Local News, 6/3/16

WEST CHESTER People in orange were marching around the streets of West Chester Thursday morning as part of the national Gun Violence Awareness Day.

Even more so because, as of a proclamation unanimously approved by the borough council and read aloud by Mayor Carolyn Comitta, June 2 is Gun Violence Protection Day in West Chester.

“We need your voices — we need all the voices on gun violence protection,” said Comitta, a Democrat who is running for state representative against incumbent state Rep. Dan Truitt, R-156, of East Goshen. “It’s all about keeping our children, our families and our communities safe.”

Residents gathered at the steps of the old courthouse, decked in orange, and carried signs promoting background checks and to put a stop to senseless gun violence….
