WEST CHESTER >> Borough Council chose teacher Michael Stefano to serve as a member of council.
He will replace Jordan Norley who resigned to take the job as mayor.
Two other candidates, Rachel Widmayer and Sue Bayne, were also interviewed but unsuccessfully sought to fill the Ward 4 seat, at Tuesday’s work session.
All three interviewees are Democrats. Ward 4 is located in the southeast part of the borough. The ward is predominately composed of Democratic voters. As an appointee, Stafano will serve until January. The new councilman said he will seek to then fill the remaining two years of Norley’s term which runs through December 2019, in the November election.
Stefano said the major issues he will face include: parking issues, relations with the university and communication with borough members….
