Stop Voter Suppression in Pennsylvania

Below is an email from Marian Schneider, Esq., who, in partnership with the Protect Our Vote Coalition, the Advancement Project, and PA Voice, created a petition at SignOn.org. If you have concerns or feedback about this petition, click here.

The Pennsylvania Senate is considering legislation that could disenfranchise thousands of Pennsylvanians and prevent them from making their voices heard on election day.

In June, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed HB 934, which would require Pennsylvanians to show a valid state or federal photo ID before they are permitted to vote. HB 934 is an expensive voter suppression bill that would make it harder for older citizens, young adults, people with disabilities, racial minorities, and lower-income people to vote. The bill passed almost entirely on party lines and now moves on to the Senate.

That’s why I created a petition to the Pennsylvania Senate on SignOn.org, which says:

Oppose House Bill 934 because it is unnecessary, it is a waste of taxpayer funds, and it will deprive citizens of their right to vote.
